No flexibility or previous yoga experience required! Have you been looking for a way to share your love of Yoga with a reluctant partner? Couples Yoga is the perfect way to introduce non yogis to the peace and healing of Yoga.
All that is needed is a willingness to play and eplore with your partner.
Couples Yoga can be a wonderful way to inject some much needed vitality into your relationship. It offers a chance to connect deeply and learn to tune into subtle cues and non verbal communication to improve communication skills and increase intimacy.
The class will include some breathing exercises, gentle stretching postures as well as partner massage, stress management skills and final deep relaxation.
Practising Yoga with your partner provides many benefits-
- Builds Trust - working together in postures requires supporting one another and letting go. Trusting that your partner is there to help you and work with you with love and nonjudgment
- Improves Connection – Getting to know your partner’s body in new ways. Co-ordinated breath exercises and simply sitting quietly feeling each other’s heart beat and focusing attention on each other can be profoundly healing and connecting. Tuning in to the subtle movements and abilities of your partner can help deepen your physical union in a non sexual way.
- Increases Fun - One of the most frequent activities in couples yoga is laughter. Yoga with your partner brings a sense of playfulness and joy to your relationship. Playing and laughing together is a great way to releive tensions and stress.
- Deepens Intimacy -Couples Yoga provides a way to explore each other intimately in a non sexual way. Of course deepening your physical and spiritual connection will almost certainly fan your sexual spark as well!
- Develops Communication – Learn to read your partner’s non verbal communication and to express your needs and wants. Couples Yoga relies on constant communication between partners to perform the postures safely and to help each other get the maximum benefit of the practice. How well do you read each other’s signals?
- Healthy Time Together – when our hectic lives make it difficult to find time for each other we often fall into easy patterns such as watching television or going out for a drink in order to carve out some time for each other. Couples Yoga offers a chance to spend quality time together in a way that strengthens your relationship and is healthy and joyful!
