In this workshop we will explore three of yoga’s powerful tools of transformation. We will use a variety of breath modifications in asana( postures) designed to prepare the body for seated breath work Next we will learn the basics of pranayama (breath work) and explore different techniques for manipulating the breath to achieive various energetic effects. After seated breath-work we will turn our newly calmed minds towards a meditation of self reflection and contemplation to induce a sense of peace and calmness and clear our minds allowing us to perceive more clearly and improve our quality of life.
We will explore:
- Yoga postures which link breath and movement and are adapted to prepare the body to sit and to breathe
- An introduction to the science of ratio pranayama to enhance the energetic body
- The intricate link between the breath, nervous system and the mind.
- Meditation techniques to calm the mind and focus attention to help ease stress and anxiety
