Happy New Year!

It’s that time of year again…after all the parties, cocktails, high calorie foods and late nights most of us start thinking about new year’s resolutions and making some changes in our lives. How long do those desperate and often unreasonable promises we make to ourselves last though?

Instead of your usual resolutions this year, why not take a yogic approach?

Our theme this month at Tulip is Sankalpa- Resolution for Evolution.

Sankalpa is a Sanskrit word which means “will, purpose, or determination.” It is a thought or intention directed toward a specific outcome.

When we make a sankalpa, instead of focusing on some negative aspect of ourselves that we wish to change, we instead bring our attention to the root of those behaviours and make an intention which respects where we are while focusing on how we’d like to change.

All month at Tulip you’ll find the theme of Sankalpa, of positive, affirming intentions and the power that you have to change.
